Spring Snow Day

Getting ready to get out into the snow...

Getting ready to get out into the snow…

As we all know, this first week of Spring brought us a little snow storm. In snowed hard all night and most of the next day. Christopher watched the action from the window, begging me to take him sledding.

“PLEASE!”

“You have school today. After school is over, either me or your daddy will take you.”

“I want Daddy, he’s more fun in the snow.”

I silently said “YES!!!” but outloud, I said “OH ok, whatever you want.”

Cut to several hours later, when both Daddy and Chris are finally home. It took them about 20 minutes to layer up with extra socks and pants, to put on gloves and boots and hats and scarves. Then they had to get the sleds down and get ready for fun.

Prep time = about 25 minutes.

Because Indiana weather is insane and the sun had already come out and started to melt the snow into a muddy mess, Play time = about 7 minutes.

Because Indiana weather is insane and the sun had already come out and started to melt the snow into a muddy mess, Clean up time for the wet/muddy/icy items = 30 Minutes.

Totally worth it.

    Totally. What’s a little mud?

Absolutely. He’s going to get plenty of baths over the next year but that small amount of time spent sledding has got to last until next winter.
