We had friends visiting last week when we had our first snow of the season, and Emmy and her little friend Tessa were excited to see it for the first time (see the picture above), while Chris was just ready to get out there and play!
After a morning of peering out at the pretty white flakes, I decided to bundle up my babies for an little play time. So after 15 minutes of bundling, we shuffled outside. Chris softly walked along the sidewalk, eager to get to the snowy grass. Emmy is not used to ice, and took one step before falling on her booty. She cried, stood up, took a step and fell. She cried, stood back up, took a third step, and immediately fell again. After that fall, she was done with snow and insisted I carry her. SO, we spent the rest of our playtime with Emmy in my arms and Christopher throwing miniature snowballs at us and making snow angel after snow angel. All in all, the kids had fun.
When we got back inside and recapped the play, Emmy’s snow time experience was all about what she was wearing “I had my shoes on and my pants on and hat on and gloves on and a jacket on and I fall snow! And you wear boots mama.” The recap was much simpler for Chris, who only cared about his 10 new snow angels.
