Christopher had his school Christmas program last night. I knew he was playing Joseph, so I was a bundle of nerves and pride (he was, however, cool as a cucumber – no pre show jitters for him). We arrived to the school ready for some cuteness, and then I saw the program for the night (see above). I melted!
The actual program was as cute as can be; Chris held the hand of “Mary” for the ENTIRE program, spoke his few lines loud and clear, danced and sang with reckless abandon, and tickled the toes of the baby Jesus doll (that part was jut for fun).
After the show, he nibbled on cookies and refused to speak of the play.
“You did so good, what were you thinking while you were up there!?”
“Thanks! I don’t like this cookie.” Or “Good. Let’s play Ninja Turtles.”
Also, baby sister did great. She snuggled her Daddy and Grandpa during the entire show and tackled her brother with a big hug when we collected him from the stage.
